I am interested in your blog, big time! I am not Italian by birth, but I am Italian “at heart”. I grew up with my two best girlfriends and they were both Italian by birth, but we were all American citizens. So I love the Italian culture and cuisine. I just saw the movie “Eat, Pray, Love”, just hoping to get a glimpse of some Italian countryside scenery. I have been to Italy once, and I fell in love with the country itself.

I have never been to Venice, however. The places I visited were Lake Como and Bellagio. My husband was stationed in Italy after WWII during the American occupation, and he learned to speak some Italian there and made many Italian friends. They called him Little Tex because he is from Texas.

I just bought myself a set of dishes, all Italian design, by Phaltzgraff, and I cook mostly Italian meals, as my husband and myself love Italian food. So you can see I have a love affair with Italy!! So anything I can glean from your blog, will be appreciated.

We are retired, live on an island in southern Texas, and enjoy good food and good wine. Thanks for posting online where people like us can read about and enjoy the culture of Italy along with you vicariously.
